Why change?

Published by optimist at 11:05 pm under Uncategorized Edit This

Never has the word “change” been such an indelible and inspiring part of public discourse. When I first decided to join Today’s blog network, I believed that we were on the precipice of either triumph or tragedy, and I wanted to monitor the events that would lead us there. And, as my username suggests, I have high hopes that it will be triumph. However, as the euphoria of Obama’s victory wore off, I realized that all the while that I was focusing on changing the state of the nation, I was neglecting the changes I desperately need to make for myself.

So this is my journey of change. We all have things about ourselves or our lives that we need to change- even if we don’t want to admit it. Don’t expect me to be calm and collected like Obama. I don’t have a transition team of proven experts. And it may turn out at the end of this experiment that the only thing I change is my username- from optimist to pessimist. We’ll see.
