Are you gullible?
Interesting interview on NPR with a psychologist who specializes in the science of gullibility. This professor really handled these first questions well:
“Aren’t you embarrassed that this happened to you?”
“Are you the only one that’s going to be making money off of this thing now that your book is out?”
He’s a scientist and professor emeritus of gullibility. And… he was just duped of a large chunk of his savings by Madoff. So, I realized I’ve been whining about my missteps. What I need to be doing if I want to change anything, is to learn from these missteps. There are reasons for all of the bad choices I have made. So, how did this psychologist get gulled? How did I get duped into spilling the beans to the first people who asked me about doing LSD? Are we gullible? Are you gullible?
